Sony Corporation (hereafter Sony) and NEC Corporation (hereafter NEC) announced on September 11, 2008 that they have signed an agreement to transfer NEC’s 45 % stock in Sony NEC Optiarc Inc. to Sony, and make it a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sony Group.
As a result, Sony NEC Optiarc has become a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Sony Group under the name of Sony Optiarc as of December 5, 2008.
